The activities in this class have a broader focus on movement and motor skills. Coordination & balance take on a greater role in these classes. The class continues the SOS goal to support the development of a social network for all new parents; helping them to get out and about to meet other new parents and their babies. Working moms benefit by creating structured activities for your caregiver and baby, helping to start a routine important in emotional development. We utilize music, bells, hoops, and vivid colors to stimulate the infants.
Super-Tots (18-24 months)
Class activities encourage children to see outside of their own environment as they parallel play. We also discover our independence by building confidence and self-awareness through special "by myself” activities. Activities at this age are focused on early cognitive development. Children are introduced to some basic gymnastics skills on the balance beam (kick, dip, and hop) swing bar (open, close and holding on tight). All activities are explored through creative games like taking a pretend trip to the zoo and other exotic places.
Sibling Class (15-36 months)
This is a unique class that is only available during the summer session. It is designed for children as an introduction to working and playing with children of different ages. While enjoying all this fun we also try to work on taking our turn, remembering our listening ears etc. We also explore waiting for our grown-up, sibling struggles along with our independence, building confidence and self-awareness through special "kids only” activities. The mixed ages allow families with tight schedules to better manage their schedules. Children will be introduced to the balance beam (kick, dip, and hop) swing bar (open, close and holding on tight), if they haven’t had that experience, others who have attended other classes will attempt tumbles, rolling, and falling.
You do not have to have a sibling to participate in this class.
Tumbling Two's (24-36 months)
Children are introduced to the concept of separation as a part of their lives. While enjoying all this fun we also try to work on taking our turn and remembering our listening ears to foster socialization. We continue to introduce the concept of our independence, building confidence and self-awareness through special "kids only” activities. Activities include basic gymnastics skills on the balance beam (kick, dip, and hop) swing bar (open, close and holding on tight).
Beginner Tumbling (3’s and 4’s)
This class focuses on children’s activities to foster independent work and as an introduction to separation and setting limits for themselves. Children are encouraged to take direction during activities rather than visually mimicking activities. We also explore our independence, building confidence and self-awareness through special "by myself” activities. Activities include basic gymnastics skills on the balance beam (kick, dip, and hop) swing bar (open, close and holding on tight).
Beginner Tumbling (4's and 5's)
This class focuses on combining basic gymnastics/tumbling skills acquired in previous classes. Progressive skill teaching is utilized to allow children to complete combination skills. More advanced gymnastic skills are introduced while continuing to utilize the foundation built on the balance beam combination skills as well as compulsory skills dictated by the United States Gymnastics Federation (kicking, dipping, and hoping) and swing bar (open close, swing and holding on tight). We continue to explore our independence; building confidence and self-awareness, with a longer focus on students setting their own goals and “practicing” independently.
